SPECIAL EVENTS
Open House:
Metuchen Christian Academy has an annual open house scheduled in March, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. This year the open house will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd of 2011. At this time, prospective and current parents are welcome to visit the classrooms and will have an opportunity to meet with the teachers. Parents will also be able to view the A BEKA curriculum for grades Kindergarten through Eighth.
Science and History Fair:
During the month of May, Metuchen Christian Academy has an annual Science and History Fair. At this time our students display wonderful science and history projects, which reflect what they have been learning during the school year. Our teachers are also available to meet with parents and to answer any questions, which parents may have. The A BEKA curriculum will also be available for parents to peruse. This year, 2011, our Science and History Fair is scheduled for Thursday, May 12th, from 7:00 – 8:00PM.
Spring and Christmas Programs:
Being a school of excellence, Metuchen Christian Academy also focuses on the arts in addition to the regular curriculum. Twice each year, our students participate in a short skit, play, or musical presentation for our parents. This gives our students an opportunity to demonstrate their unique acting and singing skills. Our Christmas Programs, for 2010, will be held on Thursday, December 2nd and Friday, December 3rd as well as on Thursday, December 9th and Friday, December 10th from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Our Spring Programs will be held on Thursday, May 28th and Friday, May 30th as well as on Thursday, June 3rd and Friday, June 4th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Orientation:
Orientation Day will be the Tuesday before the first day of school, from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM. Students, accompanied by their parents, must attend Orientation Day. All students in attendance on that day will be expected to comply with regular school dress standards. Important classroom information will be given. It is also a get-acquainted time for students and teachers. Textbooks will be assigned, and schedules will be handed out. If a parent or guardian is unable to attend, there will be a $10.00 late orientation fee added to their October tuition, which is due the first day of school. For the 2010-2011 school year Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 31st.
Home Economics:
Home Economics is available for out 7th and 8th grades. The cost is $25.00 per school year, which covers the cost of food and materials. A participation form will be distributed to parents at Orientation.
Chapel:
On Wednesdays, from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM, all staff and students attend a chapel service in our sanctuary. We have special music and guest speakers who lead the service. All messages are based on the following beliefs:

In the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming. (Titus 2:13)
The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ. (I Peter 1:18,19)
Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (John 3:3,5)
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. (I Peter 2:24)
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it. (Acts 2:4,39)
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (Gal. 5:16)
In the resurrection of both the saved and lost; the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation. (John 5:28,29)
