“LATCH KEY” PROGRAM
Extended Child Care is available from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Besides homework on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, as well as free play opportunities, there will be scheduled activities on Wednesdays and Fridays for the children. These activities will include art projects and constructive play (organized games and sports). In order to facilitate the staff in planning, we will need to know specifically what time your child/children will be picked up. For children who use extended care occasionally, please notify the office a day in advance, or the beginning of the school day, stating the pick up time.
If you use this service regularly, and the parents’ work schedule remains the same, it must be paid on a monthly basis to minimize bookkeeping. Please note that with the exception of Kindergarteners, who are eligible to use the services of our DaySpring Child Care Center (for an additional fee), we are unable to provide extended care in regards to holidays, school vacations, or inclement weather. NOTE: There will be no after-care the last school day before Christmas vacation.
The hourly rate for occasional use of our latch key program (not regularly) is $4.00 per hour. This fee is to be paid the same day that your child is picked up. If your child is dropped off between 7:30 and 8:00 AM there is a $4.00 fee. Between 8:01 and 8:30 AM the fee is $2.00. If your child is not picked up from school by 3:00 PM, there is a $2.00 fee charged for each half hour or part thereof, beginning at the 3:00 PM bell. Between 3:00 and 3:05 PM, the students will still be at door for the parent to pick up. However, the parent will need to pay the $2.00 late pick-up fee. At 3:05, all students will be sent to Extended Care.
All children must be picked up by 6:00PM.
