SPECIAL EVENTS
Open House:
Metuchen Christian Academy has an annual open house scheduled in March, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. This year the open house will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd of 2011. At this time, prospective and current parents are welcome to visit the classrooms and will have an opportunity to meet with the teachers. Parents will also be able to view the A BEKA curriculum for grades Kindergarten through Eighth.
Science and History Fair:
During the month of May, Metuchen Christian Academy has
an annual Science and History Fair. At this time our students
display wonderful science and history projects, which reflect
what they have been learning during the school year. Our
teachers are also available to meet with parents and to
answer any questions, which parents may have. The A BEKA
curriculum will also be available for parents to peruse.
This year our Science and History Fair is scheduled for
Thursday, May 12th, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:00PM.
Spring and Christmas Programs:
Being a school of excellence, Metuchen Christian Academy also focuses on the arts in addition to the regular curriculum. Twice each year, our students participate in a short skit, play, or musical presentation for our parents. This gives our students an opportunity to demonstrate their unique acting and singing skills. Our Christmas Programs will be held on Thursday, December 3rd (3rd & 4th grades); Friday, December 4th (Kindergarten & 2nd grade); Thursday, December 10th ( 6th, 7th 8th grades); and Friday, December 11th (1st and 5thgrades) from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Our Spring Programs will be held on Thursday, May 20th, Friday, May 21st; Thursday, June 3rd; and Friday, June 4th (K, 7th, & 8th grades) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Students should arrive at 6:30PM. Everyone is welcome!
Orientation:
Orientation Day will be the Tuesday before the first day of school, from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM. Students, accompanied by their parents, must attend Orientation Day. All students in attendance on that day will be expected to comply with regular school dress standards. Important classroom information will be given. It is also a get-acquainted time for students and teachers. Textbooks will be assigned, and schedules will be handed out. If a parent or guardian is unable to attend, there will be a $10.00 late orientation fee added to their October tuition, which is due the first day of school. Orientation for the 2010-2011 school year is scheduled for Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 from 10:00AM to 11:30AM.
Home Economics:
Home Economics is available for out 7th and 8th grades. The cost is $25.00 per school year, which covers the cost of food and materials. A participation form will be distributed to parents at Orientation.
Chapel:
On Wednesdays, from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM, all staff and students attend a chapel service in our sanctuary. We have special music and guest speakers who lead the service. All messages are based on the following beliefs:
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. (II Tim. 3:16)
There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit ( llCor. 13:14)
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His miracles, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.(Mt. 16:16, l Cor. 15:3,4 )
In the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming. (Titus 2:13)
The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ. (I Peter 1:18,19)
Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (John 3:3,5)
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. (I Peter 2:24)
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it. (Acts 2:4,39)
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (Gal. 5:16)
In the resurrection of both the saved and lost; the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation. (John 5:28,29)

Registration:
There is an
annual registration fee per student.
This is a non-refundable and
non-transferable fee. This helps
defray administration expenses
and supply fees. It also lets
the office be aware of any openings.
For returning students, early
registration will be open mid-January
through the end of January. For
those who register during this
time, the fee will be $40.00
(this guarantees you a space
in September). From February
until May 1st, the fee will
be $50.00, with a first come,
first served spacing; and $75.00
if you register after May 1st.
Financial
Commitment and Statement of
Cooperation Forms:
Each family must sign and return to the school office the Financial Commitment
and the Statement of Cooperation forms. The financial obligation to pay tuition
and all fees rests solely with the parent. Also, the Statement of Cooperation
informs parents that they must fully support all school policies contained
within the Parent Handbook, as well as all paperwork distributed on Orientation
Day. Students will not be allowed to attend school until these forms have been
signed and returned to the school office. We require both parents’ signatures
on these forms, if applicable.
Kindergarten Snack Fee:
For your convenience, we prepare snacks for the Kindergarteners. At midmorning
each day, the children will be served a snack. A $5.00 monthly snack fee has
already been included in the tuition.
Tuition:
Metuchen Christian Academy’s tuition is based on an annual fee for 180
school days. For parents’ convenience, we have a ten-month payment plan.
Tuition is due on the first Monday of each month. (The exceptions are the first
day of school and when a holiday falls on a Monday, than tuition is due the
1st Tuesday.) Tuition is paid one month in advance. The first payment is due
on the first Monday of August, and the last payment is due the first Monday
in May.
Event
Participation Points:
Throughout the year (beginning in August with our Workday) we will offer many “events” where
the school will need your help. Each event will be worth 10 points unless otherwise
noted. Each family is required to earn 250 points per school year. (If a parent
wants to volunteer to help a teacher during class time, it is worth 10 points.)
If you cannot earn the points, you will be allowed to make up the difference
monetarily; each point is worth $1.00 totaling $250.00. Please make sure you
notify the office each time you volunteer your services for the school. Only
those points earned in the month of June are transferable for the next school
year. Parents who earn more than 250 points are donating their service to the
school and are doing it out of gratitude for MCA.
Book Fee:
The book fee is due June 1st and is non-refundable and non-transferable. There
will be a $10.00 late fee per family if the book fee is one day late. If the
book fee has not been paid by the last day of school, there will be an additional
$10.00 late fee. These fees will also apply to those students who currently attend
MCA but have not registered for the upcoming school year. Any parents, who have
not ordered their child’s books by June 3rd, will be required to purchase
a full set. Used books will not be accepted after June 3rd! Refer to the Parent
Handbook for further information.
Tuition
for Full Time Extended Care:
Full time extended care tuition is based on 180 school days and must be paid
one month in advance. If a parent uses extended care from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
the daily fee would be $16.00. Because we have 180 school days, this would
make the total annual fee $2,880.00, which comes out to $288.00 per month (based
on 10 months). However, we only charge $170.00 per month which saves parents
$1180.00 per year. Because of these savings, families who decide to go full-time
must remain full-time for the entire school year. Please remember that our
fees are based on 180 school days and then divided into 10 monthly payments
for your convenience. Even though there are fewer days in December, April,
and June, for consistency, we charge the same amount each month. Parents cannot
withdraw from full time extended care during these months if they have been
using it regularly. It isn’t fair to our school when the fee has already
been greatly discounted by 41%.
Frequently
used Extended Care Fees:
Extended care that is used regularly and/or frequently must be paid in advance
and must be included in each month’s tuition payment. Parents who occasionally
use extended care must deposit $50.00 into their account prior to using the service.
When a pattern of occasional use evolves, it will be requested by the bookkeeper
to estimate, in advance, what amount will be included in with the tuition. It
is preferred to estimate monthly the amount that will be used when parent’s
working schedule fluctuates. If the estimated amount is not used in its’ entirety,
a credit will be carried over towards the next month’s balance.
Occasionally
Used Extended Care Fee:
All parents who occasionally use our extended care program must deposit $50.00
into their account before using this service. Once the account is down to $10.00,
an additional $50.00 must be deposited in order to continue to use extended
care

All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable |
HOW TO ENROLL:
Metuchen Christian Academy adheres to the October 1st cut off date for enrollment. All students must be age appropriate by October 1st.
All incoming students will be tested to determine
their ability to perform at or above the grade
level to which they are applying.
Arrange an appointment with the principal for an
interview and for testing. For the scheduled appointment,
parents must bring two years of report cards and
achievement scores, if applicable.
After the official acceptance, obtain an application
packet and submit it to the principal with a non-refundable
and non-transferable registration fee.
Initially all students are accepted for a six-week
probationary period.
